A Very Special Christmas

Click here to view these pictures larger

This year we are once again reminded of how blessed we are. We have everything we could ever dream of and more. We started out with a visit from Nana and Papa, followed by Gran-Gran and family for yet another weekend of celebration. We finished our family Christmas with a visit from Grammy and Grandpa. Thanks to G&G for celebrating Christmas with us and for joining us at Christmas Eve church services as we watched Brian and the JFBC band play Christmas Carols as we've never heard them...rock'n'roll style!

Down on the Farm - November 2010

This group of photos is from our visit to the farm in November. It was quite a busy week as we celebrated Bryson's third birthday, shot a few sporting clays, as well as enjoyed a Dutton family Thanksgiving at our cousins Macy and Delaney Pirkle's house. The family corn hole tournament was the highlight of the Thanksgiving festivities, especially since Mandell and Papa were on the same team and made it to the final four!

Mandell's class has been working on an exciting life cycle project for science. Today, they released the butterflies for the rest of the world to enjoy. Second grade science is the best!

This is a sample of the songs performed during the fall concert at JFBC. This year is the first year the boys have been in the choir. As you can see, Mandell is less than enthusiastic about this new venture. :-)

Happy Halloween 2010

We had a great night of trick-or-treating with our friends in the neighborhood. We had two Iron Men to protect us along with my Knight in Shiny Armor. Our baby girl, a.k.a. #4, Miss Emma Jean Brennan joined us as Tinkerbell.

Enjoy!!

Cooper's Day with Mommy @ The GA Aquarium

Thank you Ty, Charlie and Mrs. Kassie Blocker for going with us on a fun-filled trip to the Aquarium. It was strange to be somewhere without the other Brothers Hudson, but we had a great time. We may even make a habit of field trips with just Mommy and Cooper. :-)

Hunter's Birthday Surprise

I can't believe that Hunter will turn 6 tomorrow! Seems like yesterday he was too fat to move and using his rolls to sit up. Now, he's a slim, trim, tall, handsome, sweet, all-star little boy. (I'm just a little proud...) Anyway, in honor of his 6th birthday, we celebrated with his class this morning. The Hudson boys love donuts, so we had a cake made out of donuts. Always a crowd pleaser... Also, Hunter had a surprise this week. He lost his first tooth. I can't believe it's taken this long. It would have taken even longer if his big brother Mandell hadn't helped a little. A "friendly" game of basketball resulted in a head-to-chin encounter. The tooth was a casualty that couldn't be avoided. Hunter was not too upset, especially when he remembered Mandell's first tooth came out because Hunter's cowboy boot somehow made it's way into Mandell's mouth during a wresting match. So now they're even. I'm sure that will be the end of wrestling/bumps/bruises. (Let me live in my own little dream world for a while...) We are spending the day tomorrow celebrating Hunter's actual birthday. Hunter, Mandell and a few friends will be spending the day in Athens for the UGA/Alabama basketball game. Stay tuned... there will no doubt be some stories from that experience. :-)

100 Days of School

Tomorrow is the 100th day of school for Mandell and Hunter. We put on our craft caps and made these t-shirts to wear. Mandell's shirt has 100 Legos and Hunter's has 100 pieces of bubble gum.
Hunter is a little nervous to wear his tomorrow because it is pretty heavy. I assured him that it would be much lighter when he came home after all of his friends raided the gumballs.
Can't believe this school year is already on the downhill!

My Baby Loves Me :-)

Cooper's answers to these questions are just what a Mama wants to hear. I know that this will fade so quickly, but I will always choose to believe these words, no matter what!

This brutal cold weather finally gave us something to celebrate.... our first snow day of 2010! Cooper declared, "It's snowing Mommy, Santa's coming!!"
